Whether you’re still at university and you’re weighing up your career options or you’ve already graduated and know you want to be a commercial lawyer, there’s a programme at Baker McKenzie that’s right for you.
Our Open Days are designed to make us accessible to everyone, and to provide you with the tailored information that’s most relevant to you. Take a look at the various Open Days we run throughout the year to find out which one you’re most interested in.
Developed specifically for first-year university students, this two-day programme enables you to experience first-hand the kind of work that we do and how a global law firm operates.
Want to know what it’s like to work for a global law firm before you commit to joining? If you're in the final year of a law or a non-law degree, our three-week Spring Vacation Scheme will give you the chance to do just that. You can also apply if you’ve already graduated.
If you're in the final or penultimate year of your degree (or in the second year of a four-year course), our three-week Summer Vacation Scheme will give you a fantastic insight into the reality of a commercial lawyer's role and what life at a global law firm is all about. Again, you can also apply if you've already graduated.
Our two-year Training Contracts turn ambitious law and non-law graduates into the well-rounded commercial lawyers that make our Firm stand out from the crowd. With the very best technical and skills training, delivered by our own lawyers, you’ll benefit from the latest advice and experience in a Baker McKenzie context.
Perhaps you’ve thought about becoming a lawyer but don’t know where to start. This programme will take that potential and send it down a clear path, exposing you to in-depth learning and work experiences, exciting networking opportunities and support that will help you overcome any social or economic obstacles to reaching your ultimate goal.
Not sure which of our programmes to apply for? Our Career Planner will help put you on the right track.
We recognise that the cost of qualifying as a Solicitor can prevent some people from entering the legal profession. As a firm, we want to encourage as many applicants from as diverse a range of backgrounds as possible. That’s why we’ve introduced two new grants to provide additional financial support to those who have accepted a training contract offer from us and are experiencing financial difficulty.
We recognise that some of those studying the LPC / SQE course may need extra financial support on top of our standard maintenance grant.
Baker McKenzie future trainees may be eligible to receive an extra £750 to help pay for a laptop or associated equipment / WiFi services to use during their GDL / LPC / SQE course.
